The challenge
Integrating SuDS into a high-density residential layout
Drainage, access and amenity requirements all competed for limited ground-level space.
The scheme needed to demonstrate attractive, functional SuDS features that residents would value rather than see as purely technical.
Outcomes
Visible, attractive SuDS that shape the landscape
The masterplan framed SuDS features as positive landscape elements that define spaces and routes.
Legible water management
Swales, basins and planting clearly express how water is managed on site.
Integrated play
Children’s play sits within a green setting shaped by SuDS forms.
Extensive and intensive roofs
Roof landscapes add further biodiversity and visual interest at upper levels.
